As you may be aware, the national LP convention is during the Memorial Day weekend in St. Louis. It promises to be a very dynamic event, from competitive races for all the LNC officer positions, to new bylaws, new platform planks, and a general debate on the direction for the Party. The contest for chairman is turning out to be more heated than most of our presidential nominations (as a quick search for video of the debates will show).
New Hampshire will of course be represented, with many of our candidates and board members attending to represent liberty from the Granite State. We still have a few open places in our delegation, if any of our members or supporters would like to join us. The only requirement is that you be a current member in either the national or state party.

The LPNH will be returning as a sponsor of the New Hampshire Liberty Forum this week. Things start with an opening reception on Thursday evening at the Crowne Plaza in Nashua, followed by three days of speakers and workshops. Come say "hi" at our exhibit table in the lobby, check out our new materials and take advantage of our membership specials. We will be addressing the Forum on Friday. Gubernatorial candidate John Babiarz and all our federal candidates will be there to talk to voters and volunteers, join them for lunch on Friday and Saturday. Come talk with the new executive board and find out what we can do together for greater liberty in the Granite State.
P.S. Congrats to the FSP for surpassing 10,000 members! All you Porcupines, you have a political home with the LPNH, join us today.

The Libertarian Party of New Hampshire congratulates Brendan Kelly of Seabrook on his re-election as Selectman. Brendan is a past chair of the LPNH and has been fighting for liberty for many years.
In a statement to the press and his fellow citizens of Seabrook, Brendan said, "First and foremost 'Thank You' to the people of Seabrook who have accepted me and my ideas as I knew they would. That's why I'm here, as I believe the people of this town are the salt of the earth and the type of people you can count on when the going gets rough. The going is about to get very rough and I plan on standing up for and along side my friends and neighbors.

Town election day in most locations is Tuesday, March 9th. This is the absolute best day to petition to get candidates on the ballot in November. This is fairly easy, all you need is a pen, a clipboard and a smile. We need 3000 net signatures from across the state to get our slate of candidates on the ballot. If 30-50 people help and ask for signatures, then we can be done in one day. A new record!

The LPNH will be having our special nominating convention on Saturday, February 20th at the NH Institute of Politics, in Manchester, starting at 4pm.
The primary order of business will be candidate nominations for governor, 1st district congress and everything else down-ticket. We'll also discuss what we've been doing the past few months, the two ballot access bills moving through the legislature and some other business. I don't expect the whole thing to take long, we are looking at having another dinner social around 6pm.

The ballot access reform legislation is up on the first day of hearings for the House Election Law committee. There are two bills being heard on the 12th which will have a positive impact for minor parties (aka political organizations) in NH.
Both bills, HB1188 and HB1264, will be heard in Room 308 of the Legislative Office Building (that's right behind the Statehouse) in Concord.
