Petitions Filed
It has been a long stretch of months, but this week, Libertarians turned in the last of the more than 4000 nomination papers signed by the voters of New Hampshire. These petitions were collected primarily from volunteers all across the state, from Seabrook to Tilton, from Hanover to Rochester. Libertarians worked at town elections, local dumps and transfer stations, shopping centers and even door-to-door, talking to voters and collecting signatures.
State law requires we have 3000 signatures for our top of ticket candidates. With more than 4000 turned in, we're pretty confident we'll make it through the certification process and be able to give the voters of New Hampshire the choice to vote for liberty come November. Two of our state rep candidates are already qualified, Steven Couture of Tilton and Lisa Wilber of Weare. We'll know by the end of the month for the rest of our candidates.
While this process is a real burden on independent and third party candidates, it saves the taxpayers of New Hampshire the cost of a primary. We go right to the voters and right to the general election ballot.
