The LPNH will be having our special nominating convention on Saturday, February 20th at the NH Institute of Politics, in Manchester, starting at 4pm.
The primary order of business will be candidate nominations for governor, 1st district congress and everything else down-ticket. We'll also discuss what we've been doing the past few months, the two ballot access bills moving through the legislature and some other business. I don't expect the whole thing to take long, we are looking at having another dinner social around 6pm.

The ballot access reform legislation is up on the first day of hearings for the House Election Law committee. There are two bills being heard on the 12th which will have a positive impact for minor parties (aka political organizations) in NH.
Both bills, HB1188 and HB1264, will be heard in Room 308 of the Legislative Office Building (that's right behind the Statehouse) in Concord.

CONCORD -- The legislature this week will hold a hearing on HB383, sponsored by Rep. Sandy Kelly of Chichester, to mandate seat belt use for all drivers. The Libertarian Party of NH believes this bill is unnecessary, a great expansion of police power, and will not significantly increase seat belt use.
Survey after survey shows overall seat belt use across the country remains low. New Hampshire drivers are more likely to buckle up, one study by Franklin Pierce Law School shows the NH motorists buckle up 8% more than the national average.
