This, of course, is just acceptance of the Unitary Executive Theory which President George W. Bush utilized to ignore the courts during his administration. Needless to say, both Presidents, Bush and Obama, assured us that they would be careful to only use their unlimited powers for the benefit of their subjects.

Washington - Stop Destroying Jobs So The Economy Can Grow!

WASHINGTON

Libertarian National Chair, Mark Hinkle, released the following statement today:

“The Obama administration is crowing about a drop in the unemployment rate to 8.3% in February 2012. Unfortunately, a large part of the decline since the 10.0% peak reached earlier in his term is the result of people who have given up looking for work. In fact, the percentage of working-age Americans currently unemployed stands at 36.3%, the highest rate of his administration and the worst since the 1980s.

If We Want Better Health Insurance For All, Why Are We Making It Illegal?

It's spring in New Hampshire and that means constantly changing weather (last week we had snow and now we're in the 60s), and of course town elections. I hope everyone has some pro-liberty choices on the ballot on Tuesday.

As you know the LPNH started our petition drive to be on the 2012 ballot. And because of a legislature that continually makes these things harder, we are still at it. Thankfully the end is in sight.

Town Elections, March 13th

Town Election Day is the number one, hands down, best time to collect signatures for our ballot access petition. And the LPNH needs more signatures to get all our candidates on the ballot. So I'm asking for your help.

Liberty Forum in Nashua

Once again the LPNH was a co-sponsor of the NH Liberty Forum. This year was bigger than ever, with attendance estimates topping 400!

As a silver co-sponsor we were in the main lobby with a large table and a new banner. We debuted our new outreach trifolds on healthcare, ending the drug war, and food freedom. Plus this was the premier of our new Shire Silvers! (and Golds!)

Town Elections Just A Month Away

Town elections in New Hampshire are just one month away. Once again we will have Libertarians running for office or for re-election. This is a great opportunity for everyone. If elected, they can have a positive impact on the lives of their neighbors. If you want to get involved, there is always help each campaign needs. Who knows, one of these candidates might be your neighbor.

So far, we know of at least 3 Libertarians who are running for local office.

Cruelest Cuts in Government Spending - the Democrat and Republican Scare Tactic

When government spending cuts come up in conversation, Big Government Democratic and Republican Politicians break out the scare tactics. They threaten to cut the services that voters care about most. Police and fire protection, schools, and road repairs are some of their tried-and-true favorites.

Big Government Democrats and Republicans try to scare voters into believing that these are the only areas of government that can be cut. “Give us your tax dollars, or granny dies.”
